The prompt from Willow Manor this week has been artfully color-corrected by the author . . .
MRM. (*)
An unpleasant person called Vince
liked turning his neighbours to mince.
It gave him a thrill
to shred folk in his mill
and the buckets of blood
made him feel really good -
Now, doesn't the thought make you wince?
(*) When I asked our high street butcher what MRM was, he
replied "You don't want to know!" So I Googled>Wiki the term. On my next visit to the shop I asked him how MRM was produced. He answered "You REALLY don't want to know!"
Doctor . . I understand that the filling in Scotch (Mutton) pies is MRM. So that's how the Scots deal with noisy neighbours.
ReplyDeleteOuch..that was nicely done...
ReplyDeleteI liked the color-correction very much :)
How about "Minced Remnant Meat" - or scrag ends, as my Gran might have said...
ReplyDeleteThinks...
Mainly Rotten Meat?
More Rubbish Mess?
Sound yucky, whichever...Not a bit like Steak and Kidney pie, homemade. Or even better, pudding, not pie. Mmmm....
p.s. cropped photo is elegant, if gory...
ReplyDeleteDid he have a brother called Sweeney? Good poem :)
ReplyDeleteYes, Sweeney Todd sprang to my mind, too.
ReplyDeleteBig Fun, Doc! Now sit down slowly, and take your meds! :)
ReplyDeleteJohnny Depp must play Vince.
ReplyDeleteI'll never eat mince meat pie again, my favorite! Good poem. I like the color change. I thought you might be going towards a purple cone flower...clearly not ;-)
ReplyDeleteVery creative, kinda gory... I like it!
ReplyDeleteHysterical, clever, creative ... all add up to great piece!!
ReplyDeleteVince Now Works For Tescos...........
ReplyDeleteMormonism Research Ministry??? That's what google told me! lol, I guess I wouldn't want to be selling things door-to-door in your neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteMainly Roasted Maggots.
ReplyDeleteI love the bloody image, though.
MRM is "Mechanically Recovered Meat." Bits and pieces of meat recovered after butchering carcasses and boning the joints, sometimes done by high pressure air jets. The bits are then compressed into a sort of meaty pulp. ENJOY YER PIES AND SAUSAGES, FOLKS!
ReplyDeleteI've never liked sausage. Knew there was a reason.
